[FIRST] Hackathon Vietnam 2014 co organized by FIRST
Hackathon Viet Nam 2014 – one amongst greatest, most remarkable events for the youths who are passionate about technology that will take place in 2 days 01/08 & 02/08, 2014 in the two cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. This is one marking event for the travelling with Vietnamese start up enterprises of 5DESIRE, Formation 8 Investment Fund and Ministry of Sciences & Technology (through FIRST project). The event has been participated by and received dedicated contributions of Professor Ngo Bao Chau - Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) and Professor Duong Nguyen Vu - John Von Neumann Institute, National University in Ho Chi Minh City.

The main objectives of Hackathon Vietnam 2014 aim to boost entrephreneur starting up spirit by technology; attract and inspire innovation for technology passionate youths and experience passionate via the establishment of their enterprises; simultaneously, to build the bridge to connect investment in high technology aspects between Vietnam and Silicon Valley.
Hackaton 2014 event has been participated by two special speakers: Mr. Joe Lonsdale and Professor Ngo Bao Chau .Mr. Joe Lonsdale is one businessman in startup field, one well-known investor in Silicon Valley from Formation 8Risk Investment Fund, Professor Ngo Bao Chau - one of the youngest professor and the first Vietnamese rewarded Fields coming from Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM).
The reward of the contest is one trip to Silicon Valley for two winning teams from the two cities.
It is said that Hackathon is combined from the words “hack" and “marathon". Hackathon is one programming contest in which candidate team should complete one software product in a short time. The contest is challenging venue for team work under high pressure, it requires patience, energy to pursue target. Candidates not only perceive more new knowledge but also can discover their limits when one product is made, normally, it takes several weeks or months to accomplish. Besides, the contest can bring employment opportunities by many companies and opportunity to receive other valuable rewards by many companies.
