Together with Unkapt, 5Desire organized Capital Mobilization Challenge, targeting SEA enterprises who wanted to raise over USD 500,000 in debt funding. A Boothcamp was organized in Malaysia for 10 best enterprises. Currently, 3 outstanding ones are in the process of fund-raising. In January 2018, 5Desire was invited by the Indian Government to participate in ASEAN India Hackathon & Startup Festival.

5Desire represent Unkapt - a cross-border lending platform for enterprises, banks, and infrastructure projects who want to raise debt funding above USD 1 million. 5Desire was a community partner of Slush Singapore and Echelon Summit which promote startups in SEA.

5Desire co-operated with PTT Solutions to make investment into Wake It Up which later won the 1st price in “A Million USD Challenge” organized by Forbes Vietnam, and into Infore which later won the 1st price in “Nhan Tai Dat Viet” organized by VNPT and Dan Tri newspaper.

5Desire co-operated with Duong Ngoc Thai, a world class expert about Information Securities from Google to organize Tetcon 2015, attracting 500 local and international hackers. The event was sponsored by FaceBook, Google and Microsoft. Also in 2015, 5Desire founder, Ms. Pham Le Nguyen was honored in the first list of Forbes 30under30 Vietnam as one of the strongest influencers in Vietnam tech startup community.

Together with One Capital Way from 2014, 5Desire provides seed fund for startups with an intensive mentoring program from Silicon Valley. 4 startups invested by us are Chongiadung.vn, Lixibox, Otos.vn, and Ahometo.com, among which Lixibox’s valuation is more than $10M. In March 2014, 5Desire founder Nguyen Pham was invited to be a speaker in APEC Accelerator Network Submit in Taiwan, strengthening its connection with investors, accelerators and incubators in APEC region. 

In 2014, 5Desire supported to organize the Proof of Concept competition by infoDev (World Bank) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) which focused on climate change businesses. The competition seek to support social & environmental enterprises which help to reduce climate change effects. The competition is the preparation for the launching of Vietnam Climate Innovation Center, backed by infoDev (World Bank) in late 2014.

Also in 2014, 5Desire co-operate with the US based ventures capital Formation 8 and 
Fostering Innovation through Research, Science and Technology (FIRST) Project to organize the Hackathon Vietnam 2014. After one month promoting the event on international & local press as well as deeply penetrating into the community, we got about 1,000 applications to join the event. 5Desire also successfully raised $40,000 in cash and in kind from sponsors.

5Desire and its founder are well connected with local and international investors, including venture capital firms. In 2012 & 2013, 5Desire consulted 4 startups to raise fund successfully, including MySquar in Myanmar, a global startup Kleii, a food delivering company eat.vn and a local game Dream City. Among those, MySquar is now the largest mobile social network in Myanmar with 6 million impressions in February 2014.

Also in 2013, 5Desire supported Pennam Partners to do a research Enhancing Access to Finance for Technology Entrepreneurs, released by infoDev (World Bank). Findings and recommendations from the analyses were based on fieldwork undertaken in Vietnam, Cambodia and Nepal engaging investee firms, investors and other relevant stakeholders. The research provides practical recommendations made to improve the level of access to finance for start-ups in those countries.

5Desire also organized a series of Investment Hour in which startups pitched their ideals and got feedback from investors. 9 corporate investors and ventures capitals participated in our event, including Mozilla, International Data Group Ventures Vietnam (IDGVV), Cyber Agent Ventures Vietnam, Mitsui, Softline Ventures Partners, Vietnam Communications Corporation (VC Corp), Vietnam Multimedia Corporation (VTC), CMC Ventures, and Chodientu.

In 2012, 5Desire was awarded $20,000 in Dev-Generation contest honored by Softline Ventures Partners for the contribution to the development of ICT in Vietnam. Also in this year, 5Desire founder Nguyen Pham was the only Vietnamese entrepreneur invited by the US government to visit the US in the program “The new beginning: Entrepreneurship & Business Innovation”

Founded in 2011, 5Desire is the first company to organize networking events for tech community in Hanoi. A series of 10 networking events with different topics were organized every month, attracting 100-150 attendees each event, who are startups founders, leaders or high-profile people in tech companies. The networking events were places where startup can meet each other, be more open, find partners and even find investors. Through those events, 5Desire helped to raise up the startup community in Hanoi, to encourage entrepreneurship and startup spirit among young people.
